We are coming toward the end of the week, and John Paul II will be laid to rest near the tomb of the first Pope Peter.
We have witness the world in their mourning, both Catholics and Non-catholics; Jewish and Muslim; Hindus and Budhist; world leaders from every corner of the world, including former U.S President Clinton, Bush Sr. and Pres. Bush had found their way to Rome to pay their respect to John Paul II.
2 Millions Polish is expected to visit the Vatican for the funeral, together with an estimated 3 millions other visitors. Rome has a population of 3 millions itself, plus that of Italy. This would mean that more than 10 million people will be in Rome for the funeral.
There is no need to repeat here the history of this Pope, for we have been bormbarded with the news regarding his achievement and his life. As a child all his family has been removed from him, he was left with no relative on earth, but today, the world in her silence mourn his parting from our midst.
Five weeks ago we mourn the death of the last remaining visionary, Lucia of Fatima. The vision of which in 1917 spoke about the coming of the Pope dress in white, wounded by the assailants bullet, and he will be the one that will influence the fall of communist Russia. John Paul II was born three years later in 1920.

This was John Paul II training ground in preparation for the papacy, for the seat of St. Peter. He saw the worst of the worst under Hitler nazism and then Stalin communism.
Mary in her revelation to Lucia Marto in 1917 fortell the arrival of John Paul II. Mary also told Lucia that the Church must consecrate Russia to her Immaculate heart, of which John Paul II was the first to do in 1987, and in 1989 we witness the miracles that was taken place across the iron curtain of Eastern Europe. From Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, East Germany, etc, like a chain burning with fire, that all these countries quickly saw the twilight of freedom, the freedom to thank God for their redemption.
Less than two months apart, God had called both Lucia and Karol back to Himself, there work has been accomplished.
Today, the world thanked and honour John Paul II for his services. He left his mark of humility and steadfast in truth behind.
We the members of the Catholic Church thank God for the life of John Paul II. For his sacrifices and having lead the church of God to the new millinium of Christianity. We thank him for his examples, always standing with the truth of his conviction, guided by his Catholic faith. He never compromise his teaching on morality to fit those who was seeking change. He was an ANCHOR of truth to the young people, who themselves were often lost to the propaganda of the so called "civilized world." Some said "he was too old fashion," but the truth of the matter was that the so called "civilized world" had moved away from John Paul, while he remain the ANCHOR that persevere with the truth, he was a man of integrity.
As catholic, together with the world, I honour John Paul II for his leadership and for his faith. I thanked him for WHO he was and for his life. One commentator months ago righly said, "that in his life, he taught us how to live, and in his suffering he teach us how to die." Yes! John Paul II has given dignity back to the elderly, and at the evening of his life, he offer up to God his suffering for the benefit of the world and his church.
