"ITALY. Euroitalia is set to strengthen its Versace fragrance business next
year with two flagship launches, one for women and one for men.
These introductions will build on the robust sales generated this year to
date by Versace Bright Crystal which has been particularly successful in
Asia, thanks to its fresh-floral juice, pink colour scheme and eye-catching
advertising visual.

Euroitalia is also committed to supporting its existing men’s lines, such as
The Dreamer, which are more niche in appeal, but appreciated by a certain
clientele, according to the company.

The new Versace feminine fragrance, which will make its debut next April/May,
recalls the roots of the fashion house. The flacon is square and heavy, with
an aluminium/gold colour scheme. The packaging sports the house’s signature
Medusa motif.
The corresponding men’s fragrance will be launched in autumn 2007. It will be
presented in a rectangular, faceted bottle, and coloured dark blue.

In other news, in February next year Euroitalia will introduce a new women’s
fragrance from Moschino, called Funny!. It will feature hearts on the
packaging; consequently the company plans to link the launch to St

I jeszcze jedno, tak żebyś mógł się powyzłośliwiać
Porównujesz wątki kiltowe do wegetariańskich. Widzisz, jest pewna różnica, wegetarianie mają w Polsce prawo do bycia wege, mają wege-restauracje, nie grozi im za bycie wege żaden atak. Gdyby wegetarianie pisali na forum "pozwólcie nam nie jeść mięsa", albo "domagamy się powstania knajp wegetariańskich" też byś się im wyzłośliwiał?
Ja walczę o swoje prawa, nic na to nie poradzę, że przestrzeń, w której mogę się w miarę bezpiecznie pokazać w kilcie jest dość mała (odpada np. praca czy włóczenie się po blokowiskach wieczorem, a tak brzydko się składa, ze mieszkam na blokowisku). Dlatego nie zawahałem się użyć Internetu do poszerzenia tej przestrzeni (i nie zawaham się w przyszłości, mimo Twoich ewentualnych złośliwości), IMHO jest wielu facetów, którzy by też chcieli wyjść w kilcie, ale są mniej odważni albo znajdują się pod tym względem w gorszej pozycji i ten wątek może im pomóc.

ja bardzo lubię męskie pokazy mody i żałuję,że nie mam F Men.
Pamiętam jeszcze stare czasy, kiedy na macierzytym FTV były bloki z
męską modą - bardzo spox i very well.
Co do modeli, to tak jak piszesz - od paru lat lasowany jest ten
model, typy w stylu czipendejsl czy też 'posągi' jak Fabio (mega
dramat moim zdaniem) nie są tam na topie. Zauważyłem zresztą, że 80%
tych ówczesnych chłopaków chodzących po wybiegu na antenie FTV ma
dłuższe kłaki i taki trend się nadal utrzymuje.
W tę sobotę załapałem się na kilka porannych, przedpołudniowych
pokazów męskiej mody (chiba Milan Fashion Week) - Ungaro, Kenzo itp.
Z tego co kąsam, to F Men jest chiba tylko na satelicie i w żadnym
kablu go nie ma (nie wiem jak Cyfra+ i n)

Zaczely sie w niedziele, potrwaja jeszcze kilka dni- do tej pory
przedstawiono sporo ciekawych kolekcji.
Kilka trendow- biel, czern i srebro (goracy kolor nastepnego lata), ostre
barwy dodatkow (oranze, limonki), krotkie spodnie (trzeba cwiczyc i opalac
lydki :-).
Klase pokazal McQueen (bardzo teatralna kolekcja). Cavalli, Versace, Armani i

"Following their successful launch of women’s fragrance Flowerbomb in 2005,
Dutch fashion designers Viktor Horting and Rolf Snoeren, whose fragrance
license is held by French beauty giant L’Oréal, are entering the men’s
fragrance arena with an original scent called Antidote.

The woody oriental is conceived as an olfactory extension of their Monsieur
menswear line. The tinted-green juice, signed by Alienor Massenet and Pierre
Wargnye of IFF, has opening notes of mint leaves, Italian bergamot, mandarin
orange, essence of grapefruit and essence of Guatemalan cardamon. At the heart
is sambac jasmine absolute. The primary base notes are amber, guaiacum wood,
sandalwood, cedar, moss and musk.

The clear-glass and silver-plated flacon, created by Fabien Baron, has beveled
edges whose facets reflect into each other like mirrors and a black top stamped
with a seal made of wax, designed to resemble a top hat.

National advertising, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the
direction of Baron, will break in men’s magazines (in October in the US). In-
store sampling will also support the launch.

At $65 for 1.7 oz. and $90 for 4.2 oz., Antidote EdP launches in September in
150 Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom doors across the US. A 3.4-oz. aftershave
balm for $45 and a 4.2-oz. aftershave spray for $55 will follow in October.
International distribution is planned for spring 2007."

counterpart. The line, which launches this month through January 2007, will
follow the same distribution as Noir, namely in the Middle East, Russia,
Eastern Europe, South America, Asia, Spain and Portugal. According to Inter
Parfums Luxury and Fashion division brand manager Delphine Pommier, while the
Noir launch is off to a good start, there are no plans to expand the

Blanc is a white floral fragrance composed by Françoise Caron of Quest. It

Perhaps I did not explain myself well enough. You can not – in proper English
and by proper, I’m talking “Queen English”, the one in which "a tissue" is
actually pronounce as long "s", not "sh" – use “which” just by itself. You
should say “which one is your husband?”, “which of these men…?” instead
of “which is your husband?”. Of course the meaning doesn’t change, but if in
polish you use “se” instead of “sobie” the meaning of the question stays the
same, what doesn’t change the fact, that the sentence is composed incorrectly.
As for the question “who is your husband?”. You compose the question in this
fashion if you want the answer – “my husband is a person I am married to” or
you know the firm he works for and you just ask about his position in this
company.
And I still stand by my opinion that question “what is your husband?” doesn’t
make sense. You would never ask in polish “czym jest twoj maz?”, would you?
And that’s the difference.

for £20, but he's working for Harvey Nichols now and styling models for fashion
photo shots and is too busy for home visits. So I went to an ordinary salon in
the High Street and 'a senior stylist' (they are no longer hairdresses) aged
about 17 did an ordinary hair cut, disguised it with some unremarkable brush
work and charged 45 quid. For what??

An interesting summary. Two things seem to come to the foreground in this post;
Miłosz's laughter, and profound seriousness of a deeply spiritual mind. A
sketch of a man genuinely intellectually troubled and looking for a strong and
consistent base to oppose the authoritarian world view - a moral necessity and
obligation, given his times and experiences - yet always ready to accept what
adversity came his way in a sane and civilised manner, without apprtioning to
himself anything that came his way later by common and well justified acclaim.

Little wonder then that he is so disliked in Poland by those who are on the
right, or far left, of the political spectrum. Unable to formulate their views
in a coherent and substantiated fashion they attack Miłosz precisely for what
he is not. As master of the Polish language, shaped by exile and a searching
memory for those values associated with language and thought that rise above
the limitations of history, he seems to be totally incomprehensible to those
whose idea of Poland is a far cry from the norms of civilised behaviour -
informed, among other things, by the very specific nature of the Polish
experience of the last century, which either shaped men, or broke them.

show inside the bottle, it is covered in a steel tube. “This [steel tube] is
a technological breakthrough,” said Cadet. “It is very difficult and
expensive to produce.”

The fragrance, described by Cadet as classic and modern at the same time, is
also unique in terms of its juice. Cadet told The Moodie Report: “It is the
first powdery fragrance for men; it is different. It is floral fragrance with
iris as a key ingredient. It is aromatic and also contains cardamom and
lavender, with moody notes of vetiver and leather.”

The high-end line is aimed at the 20 to 40 age group and retails 7% above
Fahrenheit. Two edts are available: 50ml and 100ml. The ancillary products
will include aftershave lotion, aftershave gel in a tube, deostick and deo
spray, and shower gel."

others, with a base note that blends iris, sandalwood and musk. The
men’s scent is a woody aromatic watery blend that combines top notes
of green mandarin leaf, ruby red grapefruit and pomegranate with
middle notes of cardamom, cedarleaf and immortal flower. The base
note is composed of vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka bean and
Peru balsam.

Avon teamed with French fashion heavyweight Christian Lacroix for
the creation of a signature fragrance line last spring, resulting in
what the beauty brand says was its most successful launch to date.

Spanish beauty group Puig has unveiled the first fragrance for Italian
fashion brand Prada. The women’s EdP named Prada, which took three years in
the making, is set to make its debut in the US this August. “It is a story of
two Latin families united by their devotion to tradition, quality and
attention to detail,” Puig prestige beauty brands president Manuel Puig tells
Cosmeticnews.com.

The fashion house attempted to develop a fragrance in 2002, when it launched
its first cosmetics line Prada Beauty, but the fragrance was never marketed.
Prada’s renewed venture in fragrance is the outcome of a joint venture with
Puig Beauty & Fashion Group signed in 2003, which is now working on a men’s
fragrance for the brand slated to launch in 2005.

The amber formula of the women’s fragrance, composed by Max Gavarry and
Carlos Benaïm of IFF, is described as a reinterpretation of traditional
perfumery, and features sandalwood oil, patchouli leaf, labdanum and benjui.
It comes in a plum-colored rectangular bottle with silver spray and pump
engraved with the Prada name in gray, and displays a steel plate with the
names of the four principal ingredients.

The product line includes 50ml and 80ml EdP sprays (€58 and €78.50), a
refillable 80ml Intense EdP spray (€93) and a 50ml Deluxe version (€117),
plus a 200ml Body Milk (€34.50) and a Bath and Shower Cream (€29.50). Prada
will roll out in August to Neiman Marcus department stores in New York,
followed by 350 other points-of-sale (pos) in the US in September.

The launch will continue in Spain, Germany, the UK and Italy through mid-
October. Distribution in Spain will be limited to 700 selective pos,
including only 10 of the 54 El Corte Inglés department stores, chosen for
their locations. It will continue to roll out to Prada outlets worldwide from
early 2005.

Men go wild for Jicky. French women shunned it when it made its debut in 1889,
preferring cloying florals to its hot-blooded musk of vanilla and rose. But

around, and Jicky became the world's first truly androgynous scent. The
photographer Craig McDean liked to wear it, he told the model Jicky Schnee,
when they shot the Calvin Klein jeans campaign in 1997. Schnee thinks she got
the job, one of her first big campaigns, partly because of her name: a bit of
romantic whimsy by Schnee's parents. Jicky was the name of the long-lost love
of Aimé Guerlain, the perfume's creator, and the diminutive of Jacques, his
nephew. When Schnee was a child, her parents steeped her in Jicky lore and
every year gave her one of its distinctive bottles, including the one with a
frosted glass dropper and old-fashioned lettering. Though she wears Jicky only
occasionally, Schnee is keenly aware of how being tethered to an icon can
affect one's life. "Everyone else in my family is a doctor, so it's kind of
weird that I ended up working in fashion," she says. She's also now part of a
fashion clan: her husband is the photographer Matt Jones, and her father-in-law
is Terry Jones, the founding editor of i-D magazine, just the type of men who
would have blazed a trail in 1889.

The fragrance was unveiled at today’s Tax Free World Association exhibition
in Cannes and was developed by Kraft International Marketing, an

Courvoisier L’edition Impériale targets 25-35 year old men who are ambitious,
fashion-conscious and attracted to authentic premium brands. “The unique

XS, starting this summer.

The new scent targets a young consumer, aged 18 to 25 years old, compared
with XS' core consumer, who is about 35.

sensitive bad boy."

To illustrate such duality, the word "black" is written in gothic lettering
and is intertwined with roses on the scent's tall black bottle.
The Black XS flacon, which is of heavy glass decorated with vertical grooves,
is topped with a black flip-top cap.

The fragrance's advertising also attempts to capture the multiple facets of
the 21st-century man. Shot by photographer Matthew Brookes, the campaign
features model Will Chalker.
"In the visual, we wanted to show the very sensual side of the Black XS man,
but also the bad boy side," said Thilloy.
The print ad will break as single and double pages, as well as posters. The
campaign will be accompanied by a sampling effort that will include vials.

Black XS' juice, a fresh sensual woody, was concocted by Firmenich's Olivier
Cresp. It features top notes of Calabrian lemon, kalamanzi, tagete and sage;
heart notes of cinnamon, tolu balm, black cardamom and praline, and base
notes of palissandre wood, black amber, patchouli and ebony wood.

The eau de toilette will be available as 50- and 100-ml. sprays that will
retail in France for 39 euros and 49 euros, respectively, or $48 and $60 at
current exchange. The ancillary line comprises a 100-ml. aftershave lotion
for 40 euros, or $49; a 100-ml. shower gel for 21 euros, or $26; a 150-ml.
deodorant spray for 21 euros, or $26, and a 75-gram deodorant stick for 18
euros, or $22.

Thilloy declined to give sales projections. However, industry sources
estimate the fragrance will generate 20 million to 30 million euros, or $24
million to $37 million, in wholesale volume its first year on counter.
The fragrance will be introduced at the end of July in France and will be
launched internationally in September through October."

confirmed. “It will enter Americas travel retail sometime in the fourth
quarter, followed by selected travel retail doors in Australia and New
Zealand, in line with the local launches. It will be introduced in Europe in
March 2006.”

This autumn will also see the global launch of a new Arden fragrance: After
Five 5th Avenue. “The original 5th Avenue was launched in 1996, and it
continues to be a huge part of our portfolio,” Ayaz explained.
“It represents a lot of brand equity, and generates big recognition, which we
hope to capitalise on with this new fragrance.”
After Five 5th Avenue is a permanent extension to the fragrance franchise. It
incorporates a reworked juice, featuring black plum, jasmine and Indian

"(...) "These countries have helped Italian manufacturers remain competitive,
especially in the face of China,” said Carlo Altomonte, a professor of European
economic policy at Bocconi University in Milan. Altomonte noted that labor
costs are 50 percent lower in countries such as Poland and Slovenia than in
Italy, but warned that as these countries grow wealthier, wages will ultimately
rise.

“In the future, you’ll see an increase in the production of labor costs in
these countries, but the population will also grow richer and eventually become
consumers of Italian goods,” Altomonte said. “The evolution will be a kind of
economic trade-off.”

The Baltic countries, particularly Lithuania and Latvia, are bound to play a
bigger role as wage costs in Poland escalate. The average labor cost in Polish
industry is 4.50 euros, or $5.49, per hour, according to Eurostat. In Lithuania
it’s 2.70 euros, or $3.29, and in Latvia 2.40 euros, or $2.93. In Ukraine,
still outside the EU, a ballpark wage estimate would be just 1 to 1.25 euros,
or $1.22 to $1.52.

Many European producers have relocated to Ukraine in recent years. The main
export markets therefore are in the EU, with Germany alone taking 50 percent of
Ukrainian textile and clothing exports. Precise figures are hard to come by,
but anecdotal evidence suggests a fairly massive influx of investment from
neighboring Poland. Last month, for example, German men’s wear group Ahlers
said it would cut 700 jobs in Poland and Sri Lanka and shift production to
subcontractors in China and Ukraine.

Ley at Escada pinpointed Ukraine as the “next strong market in the next five to
seven years.” And he noted that Escada’s recent success in the former
Yugoslavia suggests how new European frontiers develop in unique ways.

“It’s not that you open there and immediately have success,” he said. “It takes
four to six seasons to develop a regular business with regular customers. But
there’s no old wealth in these countries, and so we’re dressing a much younger
clientele. These are women in good positions between 26 and 38 years old, and
it’s fun to be there.”

Joffe agreed. Judging from Comme des Garçons’ experience in Russia, he said he
expects the new EU members to take a unique approach as the fashion market
opens up. “[Russians are not out to slavishly copy what the West has done. They
like to be different and independent,” he said. “There’s more of a sense of

IDF Paratrooper David Markovitz, who was recruited to the army only eight
months ago, became a hero Monday when he killed four Hizbullah terrorists who
attempted to abduct a soldier near the border village of Rajar.

Lieutenant Colonel Yaniv Elaluf, commander of the 202 paratroop regiment, told
Ynet he tried to reach Markovitz on the phone to tell him how proud he is.

"This is exactly how I expect a troop in the paratroop division to act, and he
should be congratulated," he said.

Markovitz joined the army in the framework of the Hedser Yeshiva program in
March 2005. He resides in the community of Gamzo, and will celebrate his 21st
birthday next week.

The incident took place Monday during an ambush near the border crossing in the
village of Rajar, which is located on the border between Israel and Lebanon.

"The soldiers spotted four terrorists dressed in black, and moving in an
orderly fashion toward the roadblock. Behind them the soldiers noticed jeeps
and motorcycles - logistic support for the abduction operation," Elaluf
recounted.

"The group was carrying an antitank missile, which was ready to be launched.
They approached the force and at a distance of about 40 meters from the force,
soldiers opened fire before the terrorists had a chance to respond," he said.

Markovitz, who was the force's marksman, "calmly conducted precise shooting. He
shot, diverted the weapon, and hit all four men. The missile they were carrying
blew up. Three were killed immediately, and the fourth terrorist fell on the
ground, crawled for a short time and then died as well," Elaluf described.

'Remained calm under fire'

The precise shooting by the young marksman, Elaluf said, was what thwarted
Hizbullah's plan. The four men were armed from head to tow, and had they been
able to get closer to the soldiers, they could have easily abducted one of
them.

"The force functioned extraordinarily. After the terrorists were killed, fire
was opened from every direction, as well as mortar shells. The company
commander and his signaler, who were stationed at the nearby post were wounded,
and the level

of alert remained high," Elaluf said.

According to Elaluf, Markovitz has only joined the regiment about a month ago
with his fellow squad members, and was stationed along the volatile northern
border.

"This was definitely an exceptional accomplishment for a soldier who was
trained as a marksman, but all the other troops there operated extraordinarily,
and prevented the Hizbullah sought-for attack. They were well prepared and did
what was expected of them in an outstanding manner," he said.

A senior IDF officer told Ynet that army sources estimate the Hizbullah strikes
in northern Israel were not planned, but came as a response to the failure to
abduct a soldier.

"They were put under pressure because of this fiasco and the desire to release
their men's bodies. They wanted to accomplish something to cover up for their
failure," he added.

des Garçons just opened a “guerrilla store” in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and has
another slated to bow Saturday in Warsaw. The units are operated with local

of new and out-of-season Comme des Garçons lines.

A recent spot check of other industry executives — from luxury to fast-
fashion — shows they, too, see opportunities in the expanded EU, citing low-
cost manufacturing and a population that’s bound to develop a greater
appetite for fashion and luxury. The organization, which started with just
six members — Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the
Netherlands — seeks to promote economic prosperity through job creation and
trade. In January 2002, the EU — excluding the U.K., Denmark and Sweden —
introduced the euro as the single European currency. The new members have not
yet converted to the euro.

“Today, we are leaders in all these [new] markets and see further growth
potential there,” said Bruno Sälzer, chairman of the managing board of Hugo
Boss. “At a very early stage, Hugo Boss entered the countries of Eastern
Europe, now the new members of the EU.”

Hugo Boss has roughly 67 freestanding and shop-in-shops in Eastern Europe,
including 21 in Russia. Reflecting the split in Boss’ overall turnover, the
lion’s share of sales in the region is in men’s wear, but women’s wear is
well represented.

Escada, too, is already well entrenched, with about 8 percent of its fiscal
2003 sales of 621 million euros, or $757.6 million at current exchange,
pouring in from Eastern Europe.

“We are, with the exception of Malta and Slovakia, already represented via
franchise partners in the new member countries,” Wolfgang Ley, chief
executive of the Escada Group, said in an interview, noting there are Escada
and/or Escada Sport shops in each of the capital cities of the new member
states. “We are growing reasonably in all of these markets.”

Ley projected that in the next five to eight years, purchasing power in the
new EU members will become more in line with the countries of Western

ALVIERO MARTINI LAUNCHES THE NEW PERFUME GEO

Italian luxury house Alviero Martini, well known for its bag and luggage
collections, is preparing the launch of its new perfume, Geo. The fragrance,
available for both women and men, debuted in Italy at Alviero Martini
boutiques and hit the Italian stores in late March. Worldwide distribution is
scheduled to begin this coming May, first in the Middle East, where the brand
is already very popular, and later on in Europe, North America, and the Far
East. The perfume was developed by Pa.Co.Dis, a large cosmetics distributor
based in northern Italy. The packaging was created by French designer Thierry
Lecoule, who reinterpreted the geographic maps that symbolize and gave
notoriety to the Alviero Martini brand. Pa.Co.Dis and the designer, a native of
Piedmont, developed a fragrance characterized by earthy tones with a touch of
spicy and exotic oils. Like the company’s Prima Classe collection, the new
fragrance is “dedicated to the modern globetrotter who cultivates a passion for
travel and a curiosity for other cultures,” Fabrizio Zappavigna, marketing
manager of Pa.Co.Dis, underlines. “Our target are young professionals, from 25
years old on, that are fashion conscious and love to shop for new products.”
Alviero Martini launched its first scent, developed by French cosmetic group
VMF Mane and US developer International Flavors and Fragrances, in the late
1997. The company, based in Cuneo, has two boutiques in the United States, one
in New York, on Madison Avenue, and one located at the Mall at Millennia in
Orlando, Florida. Its products, from the bags and luggage to the clothing
collections, are also available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and
Nordstrom

After 25 years of selective breeding, the Australian Cashmere Goat has evolved
into a distinctive breed of goat. The Australian Cashmere is quite different in
appearance and temperament. In mid winter it will have an excellent overall
coverage of long dense cashmere. Cashmere is used in men's and women's
clothing. One of the most notable applications of cashmere is the highly
regarded cashmere sweater. Cashmere is characterized as luxuriously soft, with
high napability and loft.
About Pashmina and Cashmere...
Pashmina is the most luxurious, softest, warmest and lightest natural fibre in
the world, and comes from the Capra-Hircus goat. This is the same goat where
cashmere comes from. The difference is that the pashmina only comes from the
one part of the neck. Genuine pashmina fibres are always less than 14.5 microns
in diameter. Donna Karan has a fragrance called Cashmere Mist.

Australia, China and New Zealand are leading commercial producers of wool. Most
Australian wool comes from the merino breed.
The main breed farmed in New Zealand are Romney, an English breed and their
wool is predominantly strong. New Zealand is the world's largest producer of
crossbred (stong wool) . China, is the next most significant producer of strong
wool. This type of wool is used mainly in interior textiles. It is also used
for handknitting yarn and blankets. Today 25 million Romney producing both meat
and wool. Its wool, which can reach a length of 18 cm, is course and creamy in
colour. It is an ideal wool and is used in knitting yarn for heavy sweaters.
Merino
The Merino is the oldest and most numerous breed in the world. The Merino was
New Zealand’s first sheep and today there are just over 2 million of them. Most
Merinos are found in the rugged South Island hill country. Merinos have a very
dense fleece - about 50 million fibres - nearly three times as many as other
breeds. The wool is very fine and soft and although the outside of the fleece
looks grey, inside it is quite white. The wool is 6.5 to 10cm long and has
close wrinkles or "crimps". A Merino grows 3.5 to 5 kg of wool every year.
Merino wool is made into very fine fabrics for men and women’s fashion wear.

In the textile industry, "Alpaca" primarily refers to the hair of Peruvian
alpaca, but more broadly it refers to a style of fabric originally made from
alpaca hair but now often made from similar fibers, such as mohair, Icelandic
sheep wool, or even high-quality English wool. In trade, distinctions are made
between alpacas and the several styles of mohair and lustre. Alpaca fiber is
warmer than sheep's wool and lighter in weight. It is soft and luxurious and
lacks the "prickle" factor. However, as with all fleece-producing animals,
quality varies from animal to animal, and some alpaca produce fiber which is
less than ideal.
